project facts

  • The Northwest Hillsborough Well No. 7 Intertie is a pipeline project that directly benefits Hillsborough County water customers in the Northwest Hillsborough area, including those who live along the pipeline route.

  • The new pipeline will be constructed along the south side of Van Dyke Road and the west side of Dale Mabry Hwy and into the Lake Park Water Treatment Plant. Construction activities will take place in the unpaved right-of-way along these major roadways, so no road closures are anticipated.

  • Construction will begin in June 2009 and is scheduled to be completed in June 2010.

  • The project will use 2.4 miles of 12- and 24-inch diameter ductile iron pipe.

  • For safety purposes, concrete barriers will be put in place before construction begins and driving speeds will be limited along affected roads. There may be some traffic delays and motorists are encouraged to allow extra drive time and use caution when traveling in construction zones.

  • Maintaining access to homes and businesses is a priority. When pipeline construction crosses driveways, one-half of an entrance will remain open at all times. Flagmen will direct traffic to ensure safe traffic flow at affected access points
